       Why Women Cry

A little boy asked his mother, 'Why are you crying?' 'Because I'm a woman,' she told him. 'I don't understand,' he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, 'And you never will.' Later the little boy asked his father, 'Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?' 'All women cry for no reason,' was all his dad could say. The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry. Finally he put in a call to God....

When God answered, he asked, 'God, why do women cry so easily?' God said:

'When I made the woman she had to be special. I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort.

I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.

I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.

I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly.

I gave her strength to carry her h usband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.

I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.

And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed.'

'You see my son,' said God,

'the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides.'
Ministries of
    THE JOURNEY
Senior Pastors: The leadership ministry of the Journey is headed up by Serena & Rob Wastman. Although the current church paradigm would call them, "Senior Pastors", there are actually MANY PASTORS at the Journey -- they simply are the leads. The Journey leadership team meets once a month on the first Monday of every month. Every leader speaks into the vision & direction of the Journey. If you would like to be part of the Journey leadership team, please come by on a Sunday night and speak with ANY of the pastors!
Journey Worship: The Worship Team of the Journey of Faith Church is led by Pastor Brennan Pebbles. There is a team of gifted and annointed leaders who all contribute to worshiping "in Spirit and in Truth" during our gatherings. Everyone on the team is encouraged to "lead worship from time spent with God." True, authentic, genuine, worship of Jesus Christ.
TORN Skateboard Store & Outreach: The outreach ministry of The Skate Church youth group is the TORN Skateboard Store. This store is located in the West Seattle Junction (4506 California Avenue SW), and is generally open 1:00-5:00 week days. Many outreach events -- as well as weekly youth group! -- are held here. Every 2nd & 4th Saturday night, the Journey of Faith outreach team gathers here before proceeding to feed the homeless of Seattle.

Prayer Team Ministries: Headed by Flo Boynon. This is our 24/7 Journey prayer chain. This team also arrives early for Journey events, and leads us all in prayer. If you would like to learn more about this time, come and speak with Flo. She's "Flo in the Spirit!"
Men's Discipleship: All leaders at the Journey must be have an accountability partner. This is someone who you can be honest with, and walk together with on this journey. We encourage men be accountable to men, and women to women. Richard Mackay heads up "Men's Discipleship" and assists in this discipleship. He also leads forward men's ministries. Come speak with him if you would like to be involved in this.
Women's Discipleship: The women regularly get together for fellowship, overnighters, fun, prayer, bible study. Christa heads this up. We have various bible studies going on on a regular basis. Come speak with Christa if you would like to be a part of this leadership team.
Skate Church Youth Group: The youth ministry of the Journey of Faith Church is called "Skate Church". The weekly program is headed by Youth Pastor Krystal Moulton. Skate Church youth group is for Middle & High school youth. It meets weekly on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm at TORN Skateboard Store in the West Seattle Junction (4506-California Avenue SW).
